The Enthusiasic Musicians Union (EMU) was formed in 2005 to encourage and promote original and improvised music in Perth. Club EMU is held on the first Thursday of the month @ the Bakery, James St, Northbridge. The aim of Club EMU is to have a venue for musicians to experiment and perform with their new projects. The night usually consists of two or more groups because these new projects don't always have enough material for a full night of music.
As well as the original music nights Club EMU also hosts composers workshops. This allows composers of all genres to come together and discuss the art of composition. There is usually a guest speaker who starts the workshop by talking about their music and how they go about composing and this then leads into a group discussion and sometime a group therepy session.
